Bio

Al Coffey

In his hometown of Roanoke, VA. they refer to him as the "Swiss Army Musician." Instead of different blades and tools, he brings out instrument after instrument. Playing in different bands and as a sideman for other singers, he can be seen playing fiddle one minute, sax the next, or perhaps guitar, harmonica, flute, mandolin, bass, trumpet, or drums. He's been known to sing too.

The Feel Good Tour

In 2005, after being contacted by Bill Hudson, Al signed on to an idea called "The Feel Good Tour." Playing music for folks stressed out by Hurricane Katrina sounded like a good thing to do. When the mission grew to include gathering instruments for school kids, there was no keeping him away!

Since October 2005, Al has made 8 trips so far, and hopes to continue as long as he can.
